Hello there, Stallions! The DJ Wolfman here, bringing you the latest scoop straight from the virtual gridiron!
As we gallop into the new season with NCAA Football '25, we've got some game-breaking news to share. While the game has reignited our passion for digital football, it's not without its hiccups. Here are 3 Glitches EA Sports Must Change to keep our gaming experience smoother than a freshly manicured field. And hey, you might even pick up a few tips to sharpen your gaming strategies along the way!
1. Glitch Running Play
Stallions, imagine a running play that's as unstoppable as our very own mascot on a sugar rush. If you've got a fast quarterback and you're rocking the Wisconsin playbook, there's a sneaky move that gives you an unfair advantage. Run the "FB Inside" play from the Split Y-Flex formation, and watch as your QB takes off faster than a sprinter at the Olympics. This bug turns the QB into a turbocharged bolt, often gaining between 4-10 yards effortlessly. Check out Sportsgamerz on YouTube for a visual breakdown, and let's hope EA patches this faster than you can say "touchdown."
Tip: While it's tempting to exploit this glitch, using it strategically could help you in practice sessions. Just remember to play fair when it counts!
2. Road To Glory Instant 99 Overall Glitch
Now, this one's a real head-scratcher. In Road to Glory mode, there's a glitch that instantly boosts your player to a 99 overall rating. While it's tempting to turn your digital avatar into a legend overnight, it robs you of the journey and the grind. Personally, I'm all about starting from the bottom and earning my stripes just like how we do it here at NAU. So, resist the shortcut and embrace the challenge. Remember, the road to greatness is paved with hard work, not hacks.
Tip: Focus on improving your player's skills gradually. It's more rewarding and prepares you better for tougher competitions.
3. The Long-Awaited Patch
But hold on to your controllers, because EA Sports just dropped the long-awaited patch for College Football '25 early Thursday morning, and it's packed with updates. A whopping 111 items were highlighted, but let's stick to the ones that will have the biggest impact on your game and a few that caught my eye.
First up, Online Dynasty-created coaches are fixed, and defensive schemes and playbooks have been updated for teams like USC, UCLA, and Texas A&M, among others. No more running into outdated strategies when you take the field!
Recruiting, one of the game's critical components, has seen significant fixes. Recruiting Visits now work as intended, and the annoying bug that prevented you from scheduling visits for recruits in certain situations is gone. EA has tuned the Visit Influence effects to better reflect the stakes of your games, and there's a new penalty if you choose a visit activity that your team isn't strong in or the player doesn't care about.
Super Sim, polls, and custom conferences have all been given some love, ensuring your experience is as smooth as possible. Plus, there are new uniforms for teams like Oregon, Baylor, and Ole Miss, and updates to stadiums like Nebraska and Texas State.
Game play mechanics weren't left out either. Pursuit angles have been tuned, reducing those frustrating broken tackles from trailing defenders, and the overpowered Wildcat formation has been balanced. There are also fixes to the number of un-recruited 4 and 5-star players early in the season, along with various adjustments to better separate the great from the good.
Road to Glory (RTG) fans, you'll be happy to know that skill points no longer max out after completing a practice, and new scenarios and NIL content have been added to spice things up. The tier system in Road to the College Football Playoff has also been revamped, expanding from three tiers to five for more competitive play.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, Judkins's spin move has been patched. That's right, no more relying on that overpowered move to break the game!
Tip: Something I would have loved to see in the patch is increased DB awareness and logic. They still watch WRs run past them and rarely jump slants fundamental skills that shouldn't need special abilities to execute. But hey, here's hoping that gets addressed in the next update.
