HOUSTON, TX – In a high-octane matchup at the P.A.R.C., the North American University JV men's basketball team survived a furious second-half comeback from Good Vision Academy, holding on for a thrilling 103–100 win to improve to 2–1 on the season.
The Stallions came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, lighting up the scoreboard with 62 points before the break. The tempo was crisp, the ball movement sharp, and the three-point shooting on target — a balanced attack that left Good Vision Academy scrambling to keep up.
Desmond Ray led the offensive stampede with a scorching 31 points, knocking down six triples and showing off his veteran poise when it mattered most. Ejirie Igbuya added 13 points and three steals, providing a spark on both ends of the floor. Meanwhile, freshman forward A.D. Blanks put together a gritty all-around performance, contributing 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists — anchoring the team's defensive rebounding in key moments.
The bench proved vital, chipping in 49 points to sustain the Stallions' lead when fatigue began to set in. Noah Rossow and Wei Chein combined for 20 points off the bench, while Daeshon Green and Nikola Panic each came up with crucial plays in transition that kept North American's rhythm alive.
Good Vision Academy wasn't ready to go quietly, however. Led by Darren's 42-point explosion and David's 25-point effort, they stormed back in the second half, cutting what was once a 28-point deficit down to a single possession in the final minute. But the Stallions showed composure under pressure — controlling the pace, locking in on defense, and making just enough plays to keep the lead intact.
It was a statement win for a young JV squad learning to finish games the hard way — by taking every punch and still standing tall when the clock hit zero.
North American will look to build on this momentum as they continue their early-season campaign, with eyes set on improving their defensive consistency and maintaining their offensive flow from start to finish.
