NAU’s Co-Freshman of the Year Strikes Again!

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD SPOTLIGHT

Alayah Gore Named RRAC Athlete of the Week

Written By Rev. Justin C. Jackson

When diamonds train together, brilliance is inevitable. And this week, the world saw another glimmer of greatness as Alayah Gore was named RRAC Athlete of the Week for April 14–20. From the curves of the 200m to the launch pad of the long jump, Gore is showing that the future of women's track & field at NAU is shining very bright.

She clocked a season-best 25.11 in the 200m, placing 6th out of 40 competitors. She then doubled down with a bold run in the 400m—a new event for her—cruising into 5th place with a time of 1:00.60. And just when you thought she was done, she took to the air in the long jump, posting a 4.57m mark that launched her straight into the USCAA Top 10 rankings.

Paired with her best friend and training partner Elina Gonzalez—who made Cross Country headlines this fall—it's only fitting that these two rising stars share the title of Co-Freshman of the Year. Diamond truly sharpens diamond, and Alayah Gore is proof that NAU's track future is not just promising—it's elite.

Congratulations to Alayah for repping the Stallions with power, pride, and poise! Keep sprinting, jumping, and shining, young queen—your time is now.

The future is female. The future is Gore.
GO LADY STALLIONS!!!
