North American University is proud to announce the promotion of Coach Jeremy Peters to Chief of Staff and Assistant Coach for the Men's Basketball program. This promotion recognizes his leadership, basketball expertise, and continued dedication to the growth of Stallions Basketball.

Peters' journey at NAU has been defined by stepping up when the program needed him most. In the late portion of the 2022 season, he was called upon to serve as the Interim Head Coach, guiding the team through a crucial stretch with poise, preparation, and vision. His work with the program since then has been nothing short of phenomenal, helping stabilize and elevate the culture of Stallions Basketball.

A coach known for his basketball IQ and command of X's and O's, Peters has established himself as one of the brightest minds on campus. His teaching ability — praised by peers and players alike — has had a direct impact on player development and team performance. Beyond the court, he has also leveraged his strong relationships across the basketball community to strengthen NAU's scheduling and exposure.

Thanks to those connections, NAU secured guaranteed games against respected programs including Prairie View A&M, Texas Southern University, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, TRGB, and Abilene Christian — invaluable opportunities that test and showcase the Stallions against top competition.

This promotion also reflects the culture of recognition fostered under Head Coach Brian Doze, who was recently elevated to Assistant Athletic Director. By promoting Peters and his staff alongside him, Coach Doze ensured the Stallions' future remains in the hands of leaders who understand the vision and are committed to carrying it forward.

In his new role, Peters will oversee program operations, recruiting, and long-term planning, while continuing to invest in player development and mentorship. His leadership, experience, and vision are key to positioning NAU Basketball as a competitive force within the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) and beyond.
