Top 8 Set – Lady Stallions Ready for Buffalo

Division I Women’s Basketball

The stage is set for the Division I Women's Basketball National Championship, and the North American University Lady Stallions are exactly where a championship-caliber program should be — in the fight. The bracket is locked, the stakes are clear, and NAU enters Buffalo as the No. 2 seed with something to prove and everything still in front of them.

Division I Women's Bracket

  • #1 Bloomfield vs #8 Berkeley

  • #2 North American vs #7 Five Towns

  • #3 Paul Quinn vs #6 Apprentice

  • #4 Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) vs #5 Denmark

North American's position didn't happen by chance. It reflects a season built on growth, accountability, and execution.
We Are In

This group has matured over the course of the year. After continuing the upward trajectory of the program, the Lady Stallions established an identity rooted in disciplined defense, rebounding presence, and late-game composure. They've handled pressure situations. They've protected home floor. They've responded when challenged.

That's not hype. That's development.

Now comes #7 Five Towns — and in March, numbers beside your name don't win games. Defensive rotations do. Shot selection does. Communication does. Tournament basketball demands poise possession by possession, and the Lady Stallions have spent an entire season preparing for exactly that environment.

This staff has emphasized preparation and player growth. You can see it in how this team closes quarters. You can see it in how they adjust mid-game. Most importantly, you can see it in their belief in one another.

Playing Before the Future of the Game

March 3rd will serve as Youth Day at the championship, giving young athletes across Buffalo the opportunity to watch high-level college basketball up close. That adds another layer of responsibility.

These student-athletes won't just be competing for a national title — they'll be performing in front of the next generation. Someone in those stands may decide to chase this level because of what they witness on that floor.

That matters.

Eight teams arrive in Buffalo. Only one leaves with the trophy. North American has earned its place in the conversation. The preparation is done. The opportunity is real.

Now it comes down to execution.

We'll see you in Buffalo.
