NAU Women’s Basketball Adds JUCO Standout Eymani Key

Lafayette, Louisiana Guard Brings Experience, Versatility, Championship Mindset

New Stallion. New opportunity. Same mission.

HOUSTON & STAFFORD, Texas – North American University Women's Basketball continues to build its next chapter with the addition of transfer guard Eymani Key, a talented and experienced backcourt player from Lafayette, Louisiana. The 5-foot-7 guard joins the Lady Stallions after a successful two-year collegiate career at Copiah-Lincoln Community College, bringing valuable junior college experience, leadership, and a versatile skill set to the NAU program.

Key's journey represents the growth and development of a guard who continued to elevate her game at every level. After beginning her collegiate career as a rotational player, Key developed into a full-time starter and one of Copiah-Lincoln's key contributors, proving her ability to impact the game in multiple areas.

During the 2025-26 season, Key appeared in all 27 games while earning 27 starts, averaging 9.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. She logged nearly 29 minutes per contest, showcasing her durability and ability to handle significant responsibilities on the floor. Key also contributed defensively, recording 34 steals during her sophomore campaign.

Her sophomore season marked a major step forward after averaging 7.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game as a freshman. Key's improvement across the stat sheet highlighted her development into a complete guard, increasing her scoring, playmaking, and rebounding production while becoming a trusted leader on the court.

A graduate of Southside High School in Youngsville, Louisiana, Key developed her versatility as a combo guard, competing at both the point guard and shooting guard positions. Her ability to handle the basketball, create offense, and knock down perimeter shots helped shape the foundation of the player she has become at the collegiate level.

Coach Davis: "Eymani Brings Experience and Toughness"

We are excited about what she will bring to our program and how she will continue to grow as a Lady Stallion."

A Guard Who Impacts Every Category

Eymani Key
While Key's scoring ability stands out, her value goes beyond putting points on the scoreboard. Throughout her collegiate career, she has shown the ability to contribute as a rebounder, facilitator, and defender.

Key's sophomore season included:

  • 9.6 points per game
  • 3.8 rebounds per game
  • 2.9 assists per game
  • 78 total assists
  • 34 steals
  • 29 made three-pointers

Her development from freshman to sophomore season shows a player who embraced growth and expanded her role. The transition from part-time starter to full-time starter demonstrates her ability to adapt, compete, and continue improving.

Adding Depth and Leadership to the NAU Backcourt

Eymani Key
The addition of Key provides the Lady Stallions with another experienced guard capable of making an immediate impact. Her ability to play both on and off the ball gives NAU flexibility while adding another competitor to a talented roster.

With more than 50 collegiate games of experience, Key arrives at NAU with a proven understanding of the college game and the expectations that come with competing at the next level.

Her ability to attack the basket, create for teammates, defend with pressure, and contribute in multiple statistical categories fits the identity of a program focused on competing at the highest level.

A Special Signing Day Moment

Eymani Key
For Key, signing with North American University was more than a basketball decision — it was a celebration of the journey and the people who supported her along the way.

During her signing ceremony, Key was surrounded by her mother, godmother, and best friend as she officially began the next chapter of her basketball career. Her twin sister also shared the special moment by joining through a phone call, making sure she was part of the celebration despite being away.

The moment represented the dedication, sacrifice, and support system behind Key's journey from Southside High School to junior college basketball and now to North American University.

Welcome to the Stallion Family

North American University welcomes Eymani Key to the Lady Stallions basketball program and looks forward to her continued growth both on and off the court.
