On January 15, 2024, the North American University (NAU) Women's Basketball team took to their home court against Xavier University LA in a game that proved to be a formidable test for the Lady Stallions. Despite a strong start, NAU faced a determined Xavier team that ultimately controlled the game, resulting in a final score of 60-80 in favor of XULA.

NAU's shooting statistics revealed a challenging performance, with a 40.4% field goal accuracy, while Xavier University LA demonstrated impressive precision with a 63.8% success rate. Victoria Moore, one of the top scorers for the Lady Stallions, showcased exceptional skills, contributing 17 points and 8 assists. Moore's efforts included defensive plays with two steals and three crucial charges, two of which were against XULA's imposing post players.

Keiarra Rivers continued her Player Of the Year campaign, although she faced challenges in this particular game, managing to score 16 points, grab 7 boards, and make a steal and a block. Elisa Peralta added 12 points and 5 rebounds to the scoreboard, emphasizing her ability to be a force on the court.

The game highlighted the importance of minimizing turnovers and securing rebounds, as NAU struggled with 25 turnovers and 19 rebounds. In the competitive RRAC league, such statistics can significantly impact a team's performance.

Xavier University LA faced its own challenges, with Taylor Dewitt having an off night and getting into foul trouble. Despite this, Jordyn Manning 15pts. and Zaria Harleaux 12pts. stepped up, leading XULA to victory. Jaleah Lafargue's outstanding floor leadership, with 10 points, 6 assists, 3 steals, and a block, further solidified XULA's success on MLK Day.

Despite the loss, the Lady Stallions completed an impressive feat of playing three games in five days. Looking ahead, NAU Women's Basketball is set to hit the road, with upcoming matchups against Texas A&M Texarkana on January 18th and at Louisiana State University Shreveport on January 20th.
