Lady Stallions Fall to Huston-Tillotson in RRAC Clash
Austin, Texas – November 30, 2024
The North American University Lady Stallions faced a tough road challenge against Huston-Tillotson University, falling 71-53 in a spirited Red River Athletic Conference matchup at Branch Gymnasium. Despite flashes of brilliance, the Lady Stallions struggled to maintain momentum, dropping to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in RRAC play.
First Half Fight
The Lady Stallions started strong offensively, with forward Elisa Peralta leading the charge. Peralta, who logged a team-high 16 points and six assists, was instrumental in closing the first-quarter gap to 24-13. A resilient second-quarter effort saw North American outscore Huston-Tillotson 21-9, cutting the deficit to just one point at halftime.
Second Half Struggles
Momentum shifted after the break as the Huston-Tillotson Lady Rams regained control. Huston-Tillotson's Destiny Stanford ignited the offense with a team-high 14 points, including two clutch three-pointers. The Lady Stallions managed only six points in the fourth quarter, struggling against the Lady Rams' defense led by Danielle Porter, who recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks.

Coach's View
"Our team showed a lot of heart in the first half, but we need to be more consistent," said Head Coach N. Davis. "Huston-Tillotson capitalized on their size and rebounding, which made the difference in the second half. We'll learn from this and come back stronger."
