NAU Reigns Supreme: A Senior Night Spectacle

Stafford, Texas - The hardwood was set ablaze as North American University (NAU) clashed with Huston Tillotson University (HT) in a thrilling Senior Night showdown. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric, reminiscent of a cherished family reunion, as fans from both NAU and HT flooded the stands. With HT alumni and parents from Austin joining Stafford area fans and NAU supporters, the gymnasium pulsated with excitement, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of NAIA basketball.

From the opening tip-off, it was clear that both teams were determined to leave it all on the court. HT's Danielle Porter led her squad's charge with an impressive stat line, tallying 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals, while Summer Thomas added 10 points and 5 rebounds to the mix. Despite their relentless efforts, HT fell short, managing to put up 53 points against the formidable NAU defense.

On the opposing side, NAU, affectionately known as the Queens of the South, showcased their championship pedigree with a commanding performance. Senior standout Keiarra Rivers, in her final regular-season appearance, delivered a masterclass, pouring in 16 points, snagging 8 rebounds, and swiping 6 steals. Rivers' leadership on and off the court has solidified her status as one of the conference's elite players, deserving of her spot on the prestigious Euro League team.

Joining Rivers in the spotlight was NAU's rising star, Kayla Dickey, who captured the title of Newcomer of the Year with a stellar showing. Dickey's impact was felt across the court, as she contributed 16 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, and a crucial block, showcasing her defensive tenacity and unwavering commitment to excellence. Victoria Moore, a playmaking maestro, orchestrated NAU's offensive rhythm with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals, while Elisa Peralta and Desiree Rogers anchored the team's interior presence with their stellar contributions.

The final buzzer sounded, signaling NAU's triumph with a decisive 66-53 victory. As the confetti fell and cheers echoed throughout the arena, NAU celebrated Senior Day in style, marking the culmination of a memorable regular season. With their probation term for the RRAC now behind them, the Lady Stallions set their sights on future endeavors, fueled by ambition and a relentless pursuit of excellence. As anticipation builds for potential postseason opportunities, NAU fans are urged to stay connected and keep the spirit alive with their resounding chant: "Goooooooooooooo!!!!!!
