5-2 Recap
Written By Rev. Justin C. Jackson
TEXARKANA, Texas – Under the night lights at Judy Kelley Morgan Field, the North American University Stallions showed why they are one of the most explosive teams in the Red River Athletic Conference, knocking off Texas A&M–Texarkana with a convincing 5–2 win Thursday evening.
The night belonged to the Stallions' sharpshooter, Joseph "The Sniper" Figueroa, who opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a laser that could've been clipped right into a Premier League highlight package. Much like Kevin De Bruyne (KDB) bending lines from midfield, Figueroa has that rare ability to put the ball on frame from anywhere — yes, even from 42 yards out. When The Sniper locked in, the Eagles were left scrambling.

Just five minutes later, Figueroa turned provider, finding Sandile Mdauli for the Stallions' second goal, giving NAU full control of the half.
The Stallions came out of the break with the same energy. Flynn Faulkner made it 3–0 in the 46th minute, followed by Wilman Landaverde slotting home another in the 54th. The Eagles managed to get on the board with a penalty from Diego Picano, but the Stallions answered right back with Nhlaka Ngubane's clinical finish in the 67th. TAMUT picked up a late goal from Cristobal De Leon, but it was too little, too late.
When asked about how his squad handled the Eagles' attempt at a comeback, Head Coach Dane Smith kept it short and powerful:
"Pressure is a privilege."
That summed up the Stallions' night — composed, resilient, and ruthless.
