Stallions Show Grit and Heart in Tight 2–1 Senior Day Finish

Houston, Texas — Under the lights of the Houston Sports Park, the North American University Men's Soccer team closed out its 2025 campaign with passion, pride, and purpose. Despite controlling much of the second half and creating more scoring opportunities, the Stallions fell just short in a 2–1 Senior Day thriller against A&M–Victoria.
A&M–Victoria struck first in the 31st minute with Baillie O'Reilly scoring off a deflection. The Stallions regrouped and came out of halftime with renewed fire, equalizing in the 53rd minute when senior Alejandro Pérez buried a goal off a smooth assist from Wilman Landaverde — two veterans connecting one last time in front of their home crowd.
The Jaguars would reclaim the lead in the 64th minute when Mosiah Bonney slipped one past the keeper to make it 2–1. Despite the setback, North American dominated possession for the remainder of the match, outshooting A&M–Victoria 12–7 and earning seven corner kicks to the visitors' four.
Senior goalkeeper Gino Burioni anchored the back line in his final appearance, while captains Joseph Figueroa, Pedro Ortega, and Reynaldo Vanegas showcased the leadership and composure that have defined this program's growth.
Before kickoff, NAU honored an extraordinary group of seniors: Kyle Tideswell, José Carlos Dos Santos Jr., Pedro Ortega, Gino Burioni, Alejandro Pérez, Isaiah Castillo, Wilman Landaverde, Erik Landaverde, Sajid Mohammad, Joseph Figueroa, Denalie Cortez, Andrew Gonzalez, Kaan Celebi, Alonso Miranda, and Reynaldo Vanegas.
Their legacy is more than statistics — it's the spirit, sweat, and standard they've set for future Stallions.

NAU Goal: Pérez (53:30) — assisted by Landaverde
