Lady Stallions Fall to LSU Shreveport at Home
By Rev. Justin C. Jackson, North American University Sports Information Director

Stafford, Texas – The North American University Lady Stallions faced a tough battle against one of the top teams in the Red River Athletic Conference on Saturday afternoon, falling 69-42 to the visiting LSU Shreveport Pilots.

The opening quarter saw the Lady Stallions (10-14, 8-13 RRAC) struggle to find an offensive rhythm against the stifling defense of LSU Shreveport (21-3, 20-1 RRAC). Elisa Peralta led the charge for North American, scoring 10 points while adding five rebounds and four assists. However, LSU Shreveport's balanced attack, led by 21-point performances from both Erynn Williams and Paula Gonzalez Herrero, proved too much to overcome.

After a slow first half that saw the Lady Stallions enter the locker room trailing 32-15, they showed fight in the third quarter, outscoring the Pilots 14-11. Victoria Moore contributed five points, while Maurdaisha Powell added six points and four steals in an effort to turn the tide.

The final quarter, however, belonged to LSU Shreveport, as they exploded for 26 points to put the game out of reach. The Pilots' efficient shooting—43.3% from the field and 58.8% from three-point range—proved to be the deciding factor, while their defensive pressure forced 28 Lady Stallion turnovers.

Despite the loss, North American saw strong defensive efforts from Peralta and Powell, as well as solid contributions off the bench from Kayla Dickey, who finished with seven points and four rebounds.

The Lady Stallions will look to regroup and bounce back in their next matchup as they continue their push toward conference tournament positioning.
