NAU Stallions Hold On for 57-55 Win Over Jarvis Christian

Wynn Leads the Charge in Close Victory; Fry Nears 1,000 Career Points

STABLE TALK: STALLIONS EDGE JARVIS CHRISTIAN IN HARD-FOUGHT 57-55 WIN

HOUSTON, TX – In a game that came down to the wire, the North American University Stallions held off the Jarvis Christian Bulldogs, securing a gritty 57-55 victory on their home court.

The Stallions led by just two points at halftime (30-28) and never let up, matching Jarvis Christian point for point in the second half to escape with the win.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

  • Erric Wynn led the charge for NAU, stuffing the stat sheet with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals, proving to be the ultimate floor general.
  • Sean Fry came off the bench and provided a much-needed scoring boost, dropping 15 points, including two clutch three-pointers in the second half.
  • Jamarric Hammond battled on the boards, finishing with 8 points and 8 rebounds, anchoring the Stallions' presence in the paint.
  • EJ Wynn made his presence felt with a key block, adding to NAU's strong defensive performance.

For Jarvis Christian, Jamari Robertson was nearly unstoppable, pouring in 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting, keeping the Bulldogs within striking distance all night.

KEY MOMENTS:

  • Wynn's Steal and Score: Early in the second half, Wynn swiped the ball and turned defense into offense with a fast-break layup to give NAU momentum.
  • Sean Fry came off the bench and provided a much-needed scoring boost, dropping 15 points, including two clutch three-pointers in the second half. Fry is just a few points shy of reaching 1,000 career points at the college level—so show up to the next game and witness greatness in the making.
  • Defensive Stand: In the final minutes, the Stallions locked down on defense, forcing Jarvis Christian into tough shots and securing key rebounds to close it out.
  • Ice in His Veins: With the game on the line, Wynn stepped to the charity stripe and sank two free throws to seal the deal.

GAME STATS:

  • NAU: 36.2% FG | 13.6% 3PT | 66.7% FT | 38 REB | 17 AST | 11 STL | 2 BLK
  • JCC: 35.8% FG | 28.6% 3PT | 61.1% FT | 35 REB | 14 AST | 6 STL | 3 BLK

Despite a hard-fought win, one glaring issue remains—the lack of home support. Jarvis Christian's fans outnumbered the Stallions' faithful in their own gym. Without the energy from the NAU community, it was up to the parents of players and a few Stafford High School families to bring the noise. Faculty, staff, and students—where are you? These young men are battling every night; it's time to show up and show out for your Stallions!

NEXT UP:

The Stallions turn their attention to Texas A&M-Texarkana on Saturday, February 22nd, at 3:00 PM CST. With momentum on their side, NAU will need another strong defensive effort to keep their winning ways alive.

Stay locked in, Stallion Nation. The ride continues.
