Stafford, Texas — January 10, 2026
North American University showed fight to the final horn, but LSU Shreveport's balance and perimeter efficiency proved to be the difference as the Pilots claimed a 79–64 win inside the Stafford MSN Gym on Saturday afternoon.
LSU Shreveport set the tone early, jumping out to a 20–13 lead after the first quarter and steadily building separation behind sharp three-point shooting and active hands on defense. The Pilots shot 41.4% from beyond the arc and forced 17 NAU turnovers, turning pressure into points throughout the first three quarters.
Despite trailing 60–36 entering the fourth, the Lady Stallions refused to fold. North American erupted for 28 fourth-quarter points, nearly doubling their combined output from the second and third quarters. That late surge was sparked by the energy of the bench and a renewed defensive edge, cutting into the deficit and giving the home crowd something to rally behind.
Aliyah Solis was electric off the bench, pouring in a game-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 6-of-8 from three-point range, while also dishing out six assists. Her all-around impact continues to resonate across the conference, as Solis earned RRAC Player of the Week honors and was also nominated for USCAA Athlete of the Week.
Keasia Robinson anchored the interior with six points, six rebounds, and three blocks, controlling the paint and providing a defensive presence that doesn't always show up fully in the box score. Robinson's consistency and toughness were also recognized with an RRAC Player of the Week nomination.
Additional contributions came from Maurdaisha Powell, who added 11 points, and Akyra Hodges, who chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds, helping NAU finish with 36 total rebounds on the afternoon.
For LSU Shreveport, Selma Markisic led all scorers with 27 points, knocking down five three-pointers, while Paula Gonzalez Herrero added 15 points and seven rebounds. The Pilots placed four players in double figures and totaled 22 assists, showcasing their offensive cohesion.
While the final score favored the visitors, the fourth-quarter response underscored the growth and resilience of this NAU squad. The challenge now is sustaining that level of urgency for all four quarters as conference play continues.
North American will look to build on the momentum from its late push as the Lady Stallions prepare for their next RRAC test.
