Hawkins, Texas — The North American University Lady Stallions took care of business Saturday afternoon at Rand Gym, using defensive pressure, depth, and discipline to earn a 70–48 NAIA women's basketball victory over Jarvis Christian University.

North American set the tone immediately, holding Jarvis Christian to just four points in the opening quarter while jumping out to a 20–4 lead. The Lady Stallions controlled the pace early, forcing tough shots and limiting second chances as they dictated play on both ends of the floor.

Jarvis Christian found some rhythm in the second quarter, but North American maintained control heading into halftime with a 35–16 advantage. The Stallions' ability to rotate bodies, protect the paint, and contest every possession kept the Bulldogs from generating sustained momentum.

Jarvis Christian made its strongest push in the third quarter, outscoring NAU 23–20, but the Lady Stallions answered each run with poise. Rather than panicking, North American stayed connected defensively and continued to share the basketball offensively, preserving separation going into the final frame.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Stallions reasserted control, closing the game on their terms and sealing the 22-point victory.

North American held Jarvis Christian to 28.1 percent shooting from the field and 11.1 percent from three-point range, while forcing 20 turnovers and matching the Bulldogs on the glass with 41 rebounds.

Jerkayla Dickey led the Lady Stallions with 13 points, while Maurdaisha Powell added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ja'naa Johnson contributed 9 points and 5 rebounds off the bench, Akyra Hodges posted 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Aliyah Solis finished with 8 points and 5 assists, helping control the tempo throughout the afternoon.

The Lady Stallions now turn their attention back home, as North American University hosts LSU Alexandria (La.) on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 PM CST.
