On November 16th, 2023, the Lady Stallions Basketball team of North American University faced a formidable challenge against the Panthers on the Prairie View A & M University campus. Despite early setbacks with a 9-4 disadvantage, the Lady Stallions showcased resilience, pushing through a series of turnovers to end the first quarter 26-7. Prairie View A&M capitalized on their size advantage, dominating the paint and extending their lead to 60-15 by halftime with a remarkable 22-0 run in the second period.
The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team's strong defense forced 12 turnovers, translating into 16 points and securing a decisive 101-44 victory. Despite the win, discussions around campus questioned how NAU made the home team work so hard. Individual standout performances included Keiarra Rivers, who consistently rises to the competition, contributing 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Desiree Rogers, a big guard finding her place on the block, added 8 points and 3 blocks.
Looking forward, the Lady Stallions are optimistic about reducing turnovers as they continue to evolve.
