On November 16th, 2023, the Lady Stallions Basketball team of North American University faced a formidable challenge against the Panthers on the Prairie View A & M University campus. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as PVAMU hosted the SWAC Volleyball Tournament, drawing representatives from eight qualifying institutions into the vibrant Baby Dome.

Despite early setbacks with a 9-4 disadvantage, the Lady Stallions showcased resilience, pushing through a series of turnovers to end the first quarter 26-7. Prairie View A&M capitalized on their size advantage, dominating the paint and extending their lead to 60-15 by halftime with a remarkable 22-0 run in the second period.

The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team's strong defense forced 12 turnovers, translating into 16 points and securing a decisive 101-44 victory. Despite the win, discussions around campus questioned how NAU made the home team work so hard. Despite being one of the best three point shooting teams in the SWAC, The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team held to just 9.1 percent from deep in a 1-for-11 shooting performance on the way to a 101-44 win over the at-home int The Baby Dome Thursday night.  Just shows the demand and expectations for greatness in scholarship and athletics at such an esteemed university with a very devoted fan base. 

Individual standout performances included Keiarra Rivers, who consistently rises to the competition, contributing 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Desiree Rogers, a big guard finding her place on the block, added 8 points and 3 blocks.

Looking forward, the Lady Stallions are optimistic about reducing turnovers as they continue to evolve. The fighting spirit displayed against a legendary SWAC tournament basketball program and their renowned coach was commendable. The next game against SUNO in Stafford, Texas promises a thrilling rubber match on November 18th at 5:30 PM, featuring a packed crowd and the operational NAU Snack Bar. Hooves Up, and GO STALLIONS!
