Box Score North American Soccer team had a fantastic showcase of their skills and teamwork on Saturday, September 16th, 2023. The Landeverde twins, Wilman and Eric, kicked off the match with a spectacular goal, much to the delight of the crowd. The speed of their goal was so impressive that it had the fans chanting "Greenland" after their last name.
Southwest U tried to counterattack by pushing their back line up, but NAU's goalkeeper Alex Coreas and defender Ryota Ishizuka did an excellent job defending their goal. NAU's Henri Guzman also took advantage of the high line by challenging Southwest U's defense and even got a few offside calls.
In the second half, NAU made adjustments to counter Southwest U's high line, using physicality and quick out passes to advance the ball. Carlos Arboleda scored another goal in the 49th minute with an assist from Alejandro Noboa Perez.
However, it seems that the referee's performance was a bit inconsistent, with several yellow cards given out on both sides. There was even a yellow card given during halftime for asking a question about the time. Despite the referee's decisions, NAU dominated the game, with Denalie Cortes scoring a spectacular goal in the 82nd minute.
Overall, it was a dominant performance by the North American University Men's Soccer team, and it seems like they are on the right track for a successful season. Go Stallions!
