North American University Football Falls to Louisiana Christian University, 31-10
Stafford, Texas — On a warm October afternoon at Stafford High School, the North American University Stallions battled but ultimately fell to the Louisiana Christian Wildcats, 31-10, in a tough matchup on Saturday. Despite some standout moments, the Stallions were unable to turn the tide against a determined Wildcat squad.
1st Quarter: Lightning Start for the Wildcats
The game kicked off with a bang as Louisiana Christian's Allen Hamilton connected with EJ Scott for a 51-yard touchdown just 42 seconds into the game, putting the Wildcats on the board early. The Stallions responded with a 49-yard field goal from Cristobal Salgado midway through the quarter, making it 7-3 and keeping things within reach.
2nd Quarter: Wildcats Build Momentum
The Wildcats turned up the heat in the second quarter, with running back Daylon Charles breaking off a 30-yard touchdown run, capping a 99-yard drive. Louisiana Christian's defense clamped down, and the Stallions struggled to gain ground offensively. Levi Hilborn tacked on a 32-yard field goal for the Wildcats, extending their lead to 17-3 heading into halftime.
3rd Quarter: Stallions Strike Back
In a moment of brilliance, North American's Jaylen Joseph electrified the crowd with a stunning 90-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, breathing new life into the Stallions' offense. Salgado's extra point cut the deficit to 17-10. With momentum shifting, the Stallions' defense held strong to keep the game close heading into the final quarter.
4th Quarter: Wildcats Seal the Deal
Louisiana Christian's Daylon Charles proved too much to handle, scoring twice in the fourth quarter on runs of 2 and 53 yards, respectively, bringing his total rushing yards to a monstrous 202. The Stallions struggled to find an answer offensively, and despite their defensive efforts, the Wildcats' ground game proved overwhelming.
Key Performers:
