Game Recap: NAU Falls to Langston in Tough Battle

In a fierce matchup against Langston University on October 19, 2024, the North American University Stallions struggled to find their footing, ultimately falling to the Lions with a final score of 48-2.

From the opening whistle, Langston established their dominance. The first quarter saw the Lions strike quickly, with Levon Williams catching a 29-yard touchdown pass from Torrence Bardell, although the extra point attempt failed, bringing the score to 6-0. But the Stallions weren't done yet. Keyshawn Langham showcased his skills by returning the ensuing extra point attempt for 97 yards, putting North American on the board with a score of 2-6.

Langston, however, wasn't deterred. They quickly regained control with a series of touchdowns, including a 19-yard pass to Victor Boggs and a 12-yard pass to Kevin Allen. By the end of the first quarter, the Stallions were trailing 20-2.

The second quarter saw Langston's Bardell continue to shine, throwing a 36-yard touchdown to Ivory Wilright and then connecting again with Wilright for a stunning 49-yard touchdown. Bardell even found the end zone himself with a 2-yard rushing touchdown, leaving North American in a daunting position at 41-2 by halftime.

Despite a determined effort from the Stallions in the second half, Langston's defense held strong. The Lions capped off their scoring with a 10-yard touchdown run by Omari Milton in the fourth quarter. North American struggled offensively, managing just 126 total yards compared to Langston's 581. The Stallions were unable to convert any of their 12 third-down attempts and only managed to complete 7 of 21 passes for 71 yards with one interception.

Defensively, Andrew Laws led North American with seven tackles, including one sack, but it wasn't enough to stifle Langston's prolific offense.
