Stafford, Texas – The North American University Stallions tipped off their 2025–26 season in powerful fashion Thursday night inside The Stable, defeating the College of Biblical Studies 85–53. From start to finish, the Stallions displayed poise, control, and depth — putting the conference on notice that this year's squad under Head Coach B. Doze Jr. means business.

The first half set the tone as NAU jumped out to a 44–28 lead, fueled by crisp ball movement and stifling defense. The Stallions dominated the glass with 52 total rebounds, while converting 43.9% from the field and 80% from the free-throw line, showing both efficiency and discipline.
Leading the Stallion stampede was Naheim Northern, who poured in 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Joseph Cormier added a commanding 13 points and 13 rebounds, recording the team's first double-double of the season. Oakley Lewis and Jamarric Hammond contributed 10 points each, while Syncere Shaw came off the bench to spark the energy with 5 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Tevin Gowens orchestrated the offense masterfully, finishing with 8 assists and 4 points, keeping NAU's tempo fast and fluid. The Stallions' unselfish style was evident in their 19 assists, with contributions coming from nearly every player on the roster.

Coach Doze praised his team's execution after the game, saying,
"We played Stallion basketball tonight — fast, disciplined, and together. This team is learning to trust each other, and that's when we're at our best."
The second half saw more of the same dominance, as the Stallions' bench stepped up to maintain intensity on both ends of the floor. The defensive effort was relentless, forcing turnovers and limiting CBS to just 33.9% shooting from the field and 16.7% from beyond the arc.
For their outstanding performances, Gowens and Northern each received RRAC and USCAA Conference Weekly Award nominations.

With a season-opening performance this sharp, North American University looks ready to defend The Stable and make a strong early-season statement in the USCAA and RRAC landscape.
