Unshaken

Stafford, TX - In front of a loud Stafford crowd and a fourth-quarter surge that felt like classic Stallion basketball, the North American University Lady Stallions handled business with a 61–53 victory over Louisiana Christian, pushing their RRAC record to a pristine 3–0.
This one wasn't about flash—it was about identity. Grit. Defense. Rebounding. And a group of players who continue to prove they're not just competing in the RRAC—they're shaping it.
Solis Sets the Pace
Off the bench but playing like a star in full bloom, Aliyah Solis delivered a statement performance with 19 points, knocking down three triples and controlling the offensive rhythm. Solis' seven assists turned her into the engine of the offense, repeatedly finding teammates in stride and breaking LCU runs before they started.
When the game tightened, Solis loosened it.

Hodges = Grown Woman Basketball
Every team needs an anchor. NAU has Akyra Hodges.
The sophomore forward put on a big-stage preview, stacking 16 rebounds, 10 points, and a snowplow's worth of interior presence. Her ability to control the boards changed the game, especially in the fourth quarter when NAU shut the door with a 21–10 run.
Hodges didn't just rebound—she erased angles, walled up drives, and made every LCU shot in the paint a business decision.
Dickey's Calm, Powell's Control
Jerkayla Dickey continues to show why trust is one of the most valuable stats in basketball. She added 9 points, played mistake-free ball, and gave NAU perimeter balance all night.
Maurdaisha Powell—the team's quiet floor general—did what she always does: stabilize. Her 5 assists kept the offense moving, and she created scoring chances even on a night where her own shots didn't drop. Powell's fingerprints were all over winning possessions.
Overton the Spark Plug
Call her the second wave. Call her the fearless enforcer. Either way, Peyton Overton gave NAU exactly what they needed: 9 points, 5 rebounds, and a timely three that electrified the building.
Vela & Robinson, the Glue
Lauren Vela and Keasia Robinson continue to stack meaningful minutes, using toughness, rim protection, and decision-making to impact the game beyond the box score.
Robinson especially showed her defensive versatility—she may not always get the block, but she absolutely alters the shot.
Fourth Quarter = Championship DNA
With the game tied heading into the final frame, the Lady Stallions showed why they're one of the most talked-about emerging programs in the RRAC and USCAA national space. The defense tightened, the ball moved, and NAU's depth overwhelmed LCU down the stretch.
A 21-10 knockout quarter sealed the win and kept the Lady Stallions undefeated in conference play.
Names You'll See Again
Solis. Dickey. Powell. Hodges. Vela. Robinson.
These aren't just contributors—they're the building blocks of something special. And nights like this prove that North American University is preparing for much bigger stages.
The RRAC has been warned.
