Tyler, TX — February 15, 2025
The North American University Stallions roared into Tyler and left no doubt, charging past the Texas College Steers with an emphatic 81-54 victory in the I-69 Showdown. From the opening tip, the Stallions controlled the pace, using a balanced offensive attack and smothering defense to dismantle their in-state rivals.
DOMINANT PERFORMANCE FROM START TO FINISH
The Stallions jumped out to a 35-21 halftime lead before shifting into overdrive in the second half, dropping 46 points on a shell-shocked Texas College squad. Sharpshooter Jamarric Hammond led the charge with 23 points, including a red-hot 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. Caleb Malik added 15 points on a lethal 3-for-3 from deep, while Tevin Gowens controlled the offense with eight assists.

STUDENT-ATHLETES SHOWCASE CLASS AND CHARACTER
The Stallions didn't just win on the court—they left a lasting impression off of it. One Texas College fan was overheard saying, "I thought this was supposed to be a rivalry—why does it feel like a family reunion?" That's the true mark of Champions of Character—dominating the game while earning respect from the opposition.
FACULTY & STAFF: IT'S TIME TO STEP UP!
Now, let's talk about Thursday, February 20th. The Stallions take on **Jarvis Christian at 7:30 PM CST in Stafford MSN Gym—**aka The Stable. This isn't just another game. It's a must-win for both teams as North American fights for a spot in the USCAA postseason, while Jarvis Christian battles for an RRAC tournament berth.
Let's be blunt: If over 30 parents and family members were willing to travel three and a half hours to support this team, how can we justify not showing up when the game is happening FOUR MILES AWAY?
Faculty, staff, and administration, this is your university. These student-athletes represent your institution. They are tuition-paying students competing at a high level while exemplifying respect, sportsmanship, and excellence. Yet, the stands remain empty when it matters most.
We already lost American football—let's not lose our pride. Basketball is the second-largest international sport, and this team is giving everything to make North American a contender. You want school spirit? You want national recognition? Show up. Support. Represent.
Thursday night, 7:30 PM. The Stable. Wear your Stallion gear. Show these players that their university stands behind them. No excuses.
