North American University Men's Track Puts in Strong Effort at 73rd TSU Relays
The North American University Men's Track team took another step forward in their season with a competitive showing at the 73rd TSU Relays. With each meet serving as a crucial building block toward the ultimate goal of the USCAA National Championships, NAU's sprinters put in valuable performances at Durley Stadium.
Senior Jesse Adams led the way, securing a 9th-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 23.94 seconds. He also clocked 11.54 seconds in the 100 meters, finishing 11th overall in Section 1. Junior Keqwon Palm followed with a solid effort in both events, running 12.03 seconds in the 100 meters to place 18th and recording a 25.11-second finish in the 200 meters for 14th place. Fellow junior Lance Kellum rounded out the 200-meter efforts for NAU, securing 17th place with a time of 26.11 seconds.
With every meet, the Student Athlete Stallions are sharpening their skills and pushing toward peak performance. Track & Field is a season-long grind, with athletes fine-tuning their speed, endurance, and technique in preparation for championship competition. The regular season is about more than just results—it's about progression, discipline, and staying healthy for the biggest stage. For NAU, while the Red River Athletic Conference is always in the mix, their eyes are locked on the USCAA National Championships.
Head Coach LD Merriweather has the experience to take this team to the top. After leading the NAU Cross Country team to the USCAA Championship meet last semester, he has continued to build momentum, shaping a program that commands respect. At every event, coaches from other schools seek his advice—a testament to his knowledge and leadership. Now, with NAU's track athletes improving with each race, Coach Merriweather has made it clear: "Just like our Women's Basketball Team, we plan on coming back with the gold."
NAU's journey is far from over, and each meet is another chance to grow stronger. So get to the track and witness these Student Athlete Stallions stampede to greatness!
