Hawkins, Texas — The North American University men's basketball team delivered a composed, workmanlike performance Saturday afternoon at E.W. Rand Gym, pulling away in the second half to earn a 79–66 NAIA victory over Jarvis Christian University.

The opening half was tightly contested, with both teams trading baskets and neither able to create separation. North American and Jarvis Christian went into the locker room deadlocked at 34–34, setting the stage for a second-half response.

The Stallions answered.

North American came out of halftime with increased defensive intensity and sharper execution offensively, outscoring Jarvis Christian 45–32 over the final 20 minutes. The Stallions controlled the paint, attacked in transition, and capitalized at the free-throw line to slowly but steadily build a cushion.

Naheim Northern led all scorers with 16 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting, providing a steady inside presence off the bench. Jamarric Hammond posted a strong all-around effort with 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds, directing the offense and setting the tone defensively. Oakley Lewis added 14 points and 6 rebounds, while Joseph Cormier contributed 12 points and 7 rebounds, anchoring the frontcourt.

Jayden Jackson finished with 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, and Kemani Wilson chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds as the Stallions maintained balance throughout the lineup.

As a team, North American shot 48.3 percent from the field, went 19-of-22 from the free-throw line, and held Jarvis Christian to 66 points, forcing 16 turnovers and limiting second-chance opportunities.

The Stallions' ability to stay disciplined and respond after a tied first half proved to be the difference, as North American continued to stack quality conference wins.

North American now turns its attention to the next challenge, returning home to host LSU Alexandria (La.) on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 PM CST.
