LADY STALLIONS STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT!!!

NAU Silences Homecoming Crowd, Leaves LSUS Coach Sitting on 299

Lady Stallions Crash LSUS Homecoming and Deliver a Program-Defining Statement

SHREVEPORT, La. — The banners were ready.
The crowd was loud.
The celebration was planned.

Homecoming night at LSU Shreveport was supposed to end with history — the 300th career win for the Pilots' head coach and another step toward conference perfection.

Instead, it ended in silence.

Because the Lady Stallions had other plans.

North American stormed into Shreveport and stunned the nationally recognized 22-2 Pilots 66-62, handing LSUS just its third loss of the season — and leaving a milestone moment frozen at 299.

On a night built for celebration, NAU delivered conviction.

And they did it with toughness, composure, and unapologetic power.

After a tight opening quarter, the Stallions flipped the game in the second. A relentless 22-10 surge shifted everything — tempo, energy, belief. By halftime, NAU led 39-28, and the Homecoming script was already unraveling.

LSUS made its push in the second half. Championship programs always do. The crowd rose. The pressure mounted.

But North American never flinched.

They answered every run with poise.

Maurdaisha Powell poured in 20 points, drilling four threes and delivering bucket after bucket when it mattered most.
Keasia Robinson owned the paint with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks, protecting the rim with authority.
Aliyah Solis added 11 points, stretching the defense at critical moments.
And Savannah Velazquez controlled the floor with 7 assists, leading like a veteran who understood exactly what the moment required.

The numbers weren't just impressive — they were dominant.

NAU shot 57% from three.
Won the boards 40-33.
Forced 18 turnovers.
Held LSUS to just 18.8% from deep.

That's not an upset.

That's execution.

On LSUS' Homecoming.
With history waiting.
With 300 on the line.

The Lady Stallions didn't just win a basketball game.

They walked into someone else's celebration and turned it into their own declaration.

This wasn't about spoiling a milestone.

This was about sending a message.

Women's basketball is powerful.
North American is fearless.
And the Stallions are not here to witness history.

They are here to make it.

March is coming.

And now everyone is paying attention.
Kee and JJ LSUS win

North American vs. Texas A&M University–Texarkana

After silencing a nationally ranked foe on Homecoming and stopping a milestone win in its tracks, the Lady Stallions turn their attention to Texas A&M–Texarkana — a tough RRAC competitor that has battled NAU close in recent matchups, including a tight four-point loss earlier this season. This next test is another chance to keep rolling, keep building confidence, and keep stacking quality wins as March draws near.
