Stallions Drop Double-Overtime at OLLU

North American wins the rebounding battle

San Antonio, TX — Overtime was the theme of the night at Mabee Gymnasium, as the North American Stallions went the distance — and then some — before falling 93–92 in double overtime to Our Lady of the Lake on Thursday evening.

North American and OLLU were inseparable through regulation, locked 36–36 at halftime and 74–74 after regulation, before trading blows in the first overtime and again in a second extra session that was decided by a single possession.

Key Performers

Joseph Cormier led all scorers with 22 points, shooting an efficient 8-of-13 from the field and knocking down three three-pointers in critical moments.
Jamarric Hammond added 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Kemani Wilson chipped in 14 points and 7 boards as the Stallions attacked the paint and stayed aggressive throughout the night.
Off the bench, Naheim Northern delivered a strong interior presence, finishing with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds) and 3 blocks, helping North American control the glass.  Oakley Lewis also had another great night, scoring 12 points and grabbing 6 rebounds

As a team, the Stallions won the rebounding battle 50–44, held shooting percentages nearly identical to OLLU, and converted 74.3% from the free-throw line.

Coach's Corner

In the eGaming world, overtime nights tell you everything you need to know — toughness, execution, and discipline decide the outcome.

North American did a lot of things that usually win games like this. The Stallions won the rebound battle, matched OLLU shot-for-shot, and brought the physicality needed to survive two overtime periods.

But turnovers were costly.

19 turnovers turned into extra possessions for OLLU, and in a one-point, double-overtime game, those extra chances add up fast.

After the last game at the Stable (Stafford MSN), one of the OLLU assistant coaches said it plainly: you have to be tougher than normal when you play the Stallions. On Thursday night, the Saints met Stallion physicality with Saint-level defensive pressure, forcing difficult decisions late and capitalizing just enough to tilt the outcome.

That's the margin at this level — not effort, not fight — but execution when legs are heavy and the clock won't stop.

Up Next

The Stallions look to regroup quickly as conference play continues, carrying the lessons from a night where the difference was razor thin.

The Stallions remain in San Antonio, because the River Walk is calling — just a short ride downstream to the next matchup:
