If this is just "Game 2"… the rest of the USCAA might want to buckle up.

Competing on the historic grounds of Prairie View A&M University, the Lady Stallions didn't just show up—they introduced themselves with speed, composure, and just a little bit of swagger.

Elina Gonzalez: The Kick That Turned Heads

Sophomore standout Elina Gonzalez delivered the moment of the day.

Clocking a PR of 1:00.80 in the 400m, Gonzalez didn't just run—she hunted. Her late-race acceleration? Different level. The kind that makes coaches fold their arms, nod slowly, and hit you with that "I told you so" look.

Yeah… it was that kind of kick.

Already an All-American in Cross Country and a national-level competitor, Gonzalez is proving that her transition into track dominance is not coming—it's here.

Laila Williams: Building Speed, Building Confidence

Freshman Laila Williams stepped on the track not quite in full "LCW mode"… and still delivered:

  • 100m – 14.01
  • 200m – 28.63

And here's the scary part—she wasn't satisfied.

As the meet went on, you could see it… stride opening up, confidence rising, energy building. By the end, she was firing on all hooves, embodying that Lady Stallion Stable Talk: compete, improve, repeat.

Coaching Voice, Championship Vision

Coach Jackson echoed the message heard from Assistant Coach Jesse Adams—NAU All-American and program builder:

Stay relaxed. Be quick-twitch. Then go.

That voice carries weight. And this team is listening.

Young, Decorated, and Hungry

Let's not forget:

  • Elina Gonzalez – USCAA All-Academic 2025, USCAA National Meet Finalist Cross Country
  • Laila Williams – 2025 USCAA Women's Basketball Champion Gold Medalist

And both?
They want more.

Final Word

This is a young team. A hungry team. A dangerous team.

And if this is what they look like still "building"…
The rest of the field better take notice.

Because the Lady Stallions aren't coming quietly.

They're coming fast.
