Stallions Earn National Academic Recognition from USCAA

All - Academic Team Honors

USCAA All-Academic Team

Written By Rev. Justin C. Jackson

HOUSTON, Texas — At North American University, excellence doesn't stop when competition ends. It carries straight into the classroom.

The Stallions are once again being recognized on the national level—this time for their academic performance—as the USCAA announced its 2026 Winter Non-Championship Sport National All-Academic Team.

Among those honored are two Stallions who continue to represent the standard of what it means to be a true student-athlete:

The USCAA National All-Academic Award recognizes student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher—balancing the demands of academics with the commitment required to compete at the collegiate level.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE MEETS ATHLETIC IMPACT

For Elina Gonzalez, this recognition adds another layer to an already impactful year. Known for her discipline and consistency, she has not only earned conference recognition on the track but continues to demonstrate the same focus in the classroom. Her ability to balance both arenas reflects the preparation and mindset that defines Stallion athletics.

Nicholas Matchett represents that same standard. A dedicated competitor in the field events, Matchett has made his presence felt athletically while maintaining the academic discipline required to earn national recognition. His approach speaks to the culture being built—one centered on accountability and growth.

THE STALLION STANDARD

This recognition is not accidental—it's intentional.

At North American University, student-athletes are expected to perform at a high level in competition while staying committed to their academic responsibilities. Honors like this reflect a program that is developing complete individuals, not just competitors.

The USCAA's acknowledgment of Gonzalez and Matchett reinforces what has been evident all year:

The Stallions are producing—on the field, on the track, and in the classroom.

As the year continues, these recognitions serve as a reminder of what the program represents.

Discipline. Accountability. Results.

Stallions Up.
