NAU Women's Basketball Battles Through Defensive Pressure in Challenging 77-45 Loss
The North American University Stallions women's basketball team faced off against a determined Texas A&M-Kingsville squad in a challenging exhibition game on the road, ultimately falling 77-45. The Stallions struggled to find their rhythm offensively in the first half, scoring only nine points, as the Javelinas' defense pressed them hard, forcing 23 turnovers over the course of the game.
With a limited roster, NAU showed resilience and tenacity, staying engaged despite Kingsville's relentless pace. Senior Javelina guard Abby Bala led the charge for Kingsville, notching an impressive double-double, setting the tone both as a playmaker and scorer. The Javelinas' balanced attack also saw solid contributions from several first-time players, as newcomers Logan Borchardt, Addisyn Parker, and Jordyn Hernandez combined for a potent 25 points, 19 rebounds, and five steals.
Although the Stallions came up short, the experience gained against a tough opponent should serve as a valuable learning opportunity for the team.
