Why This Matters

Skills competitions like this are essential for the game of basketball. While dunk contests get all the hype, true basketball fans know the beauty of skill, precision, and IQ on display in events like the Skills Challenge. Ball-handling, passing under pressure, quick decision-making, and clutch shooting—these are the intangibles that separate good teams from championship teams.

This wasn't just a win for Powell and Solis—it was a win for the entire Lady Stallions program. It proved that NAU's women's basketball team is building something special, and the momentum is only growing. If you're part of the NAU community and missed this, you missed a defining moment in the program's rise to national recognition.

But don't worry—you can still catch all the action! Head over to the USCAA website and hit that watch button to witness history for yourself. The Lady Stallions aren't just competing anymore—they're making a statement.
