Lady Stallions Shine Under the Lights at Bearkat Twilight
Written By Rev. Justin C. Jackson
Huntsville, TX (September 5, 2025) – The Lady Stallions of North American University toed the line at Kate Barr Ross Park for the Sam Houston State Bearkat Twilight Invitational, an evening race where competitors chased both the sundown and their own limits. With major programs like Sam Houston State, Texas A&M–Kingsville, and OLLU in the field, the atmosphere was electric and the competition fierce.

Freshmen Samantha Medina and Milca Ramirez took on their first collegiate 5K with determination and grit. Off the opening whistle, Medina tucked into the middle of the pack before surging forward to clear space, climbing into seventh early to avoid the elbows and crowding. Ramirez, meanwhile, worked her way into rhythm from the back, showing patience and composure.
As the laps ticked away and the runners disappeared into the winding backside of the course, both Stallions settled into their own race plans. Medina finished strong, clocking 23:31, while Ramirez crossed in 26:53.

The moment wasn't lost on spectators. One Sam Houston football player watching remarked, "Wow, the ladies are moving, Coach Jackson."
Assistant Track Coach Jesse Adams, an NAU alum and former All-American, praised the duo's debut:
"For their first college race, Samantha and Milca showed poise. Times will improve with every race, but the effort they gave tonight shows they belong at this level," Adams said.
For a pair of freshmen making their debuts under Friday night lights, the effort was a statement: the foundation is already there, and the future looks bright.
Hooooves Up and Gooooo Stallionsssss!!!!!!!!
