Stafford, Texas The momentum continues to build for North American University women's track & field and cross country as the Lady Stallions officially add two more talented student-athletes to the growing roster with the commitments of Jamaya Cook and transfer student Darneé Williams.

Cook, a standout from Fort Bend Willowridge High School, brings speed, endurance, and versatility after competing in both cross country and track & field at the UIL 4A level.
During the 2024 cross country season, Cook recorded a personal-best 21:54.0 in the two-mile event at the UIL 4A District 21 meet in Sealy, Texas, continuing to show development as a distance runner. On the track side, she posted a personal-best 27.02 in the 200 meters during the 2026 Terry HS Sheila Lofton Relays in Rosenberg, Texas.
Cook also contributed to strong relay performances for Willowridge, helping post marks of 49.94 in the 4x100 relay and 1:43.2 in the 4x200 relay. Her combination of sprint speed and cross country experience gives the Lady Stallions another athlete capable of contributing in multiple areas as the program continues to grow.
NAU also welcomes transfer student Darneé Williams from Dillard University, bringing collegiate experience and true multi-event versatility to Stafford.

Williams has competed in sprints, hurdles, jumps, and throws throughout her collegiate career. Her personal bests include 12.90 in the 100 meters, 27.60 in the 200 meters, 16.92 in the 100-meter hurdles, and 1:17.45 in the 400-meter hurdles. In the field events, Williams has recorded a 5.00m (16'5") long jump while also competing in the shot put, discus, hammer throw, javelin, and indoor weight throw.
At the 2026 HBCUAC Championships, Williams competed in five different field events, showcasing the type of versatility coaches value during championship competition. She also posted a javelin mark of 24.84m during the Strawberry Relays and continued to contribute valuable depth across multiple disciplines.
The additions of Cook and Williams continue to show the direction of the Lady Stallions program — building a roster with athleticism, flexibility, and competitors willing to contribute wherever needed.
One athlete brings developing speed and cross country endurance. The other brings experience and the ability to show up across multiple event columns on meet day. Together, they strengthen the foundation of a Lady Stallions program that continues to move forward with purpose.
Welcome to Stallion Nation, Jamaya Cook and Darneé Williams!
