Scott's athletic career began in the Houston area, where he competed in football at:

Playing primarily as a running back and wide receiver, Scott developed the speed, explosiveness, and competitive mentality that now translate well to sprinting events.

During the ESPNHS Nike SPARQ Combine in Houston, Scott posted impressive athletic testing numbers:

• 40-Yard Dash: 4.76 seconds
• 20-Yard Shuttle: 4.29 seconds
• Vertical Jump: 31.6 inches
• Power Ball Toss: 30.5 feet
• SPARQ Rating: 77.04
