Jesse Adams Sets the Pace as NAU Track & Field Charges Forward
Stallions Build Momentum Heading into TSU Relays
By Rev. Justin C. Jackson, Sports Information Director, North American University
In the world of collegiate athletics, leadership is more than just talent—it's about commitment, sacrifice, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Team Captain Jesse Adams embodies all of these qualities for NAU Track & Field. His dedication to the team is unmatched, as he made the bold decision to step away from the football team to focus entirely on track—not just for himself, but to help train and develop his teammates. With a decorated career in the making, Adams is positioning himself as not only a standout athlete but a future leader in the sport, with all the tools to one day become the next great Team USA track coach.

At the FasTrak Athletix Collegiate Indoor Last Chance Invitational, Adams used the Men's 200 Meters as a warm-up, clocking in at 27.65 seconds in Heat 5 before competing in the Men's 60 Meters, where he finished with a solid 7.38 seconds.
On the women's side, Alayah Gore (FR) continued to show promise in the Women's 60 Meters, running 8.14 seconds in Heat 7 (official time 8.130s). As she trains for a 60m-200m double, she focuses on sharpening her speed and endurance for the challenges ahead.

Niya Lewis (JR) was sidelined with an injury but is expected to return to action soon.
In the field events, Chloe Hensley (SO) showed impressive growth in the Women's Shot Put, launching a best throw of 7.51m (24-7.75) while recording a consistent series of:
- 7.23m (23-8.75)
- 7.15m (23-5.50)
- 7.51m (24-7.75)
Hensley's hard work is paying off, and she's closing in on a podium finish with each competition.
With Adams leading the charge, Gore pushing for new heights, and Hensley proving her strength in the throws, NAU Track & Field is building momentum for an exciting season ahead.
Next, the Stallions take their talents to the TSU Relays on March 14th & 15th. Let's Mount Up and show the Tiger Family how Stallions Stampede to the finish line!
