Prairie View, Texas – The 91st Annual Prairie View A&M Relays were a spectacle this weekend, with high-speed races, explosive performances, and fierce competition that left fans on the edge of their seats. Track and field athletes from across the region brought their A-game, but the men's team from North American University (NAU) made a statement, proving they're ready to make their mark this season.

In the men's 4x100m relay, NAU's squad came in strong, securing an 8th-place finish with a time of 45.09 seconds. Though not at the top of the podium, the team showed tremendous chemistry and potential. Their race was a glimpse of the speed and synergy they're fine-tuning as they head into the rest of the season. If this was any indication, the best is yet to come.
One athlete who stood out was Keqwon Palm, who took on the 110-meter hurdles with fierce determination. He crossed the line in 6th place with a time of 16.51 seconds. Despite the intense competition, Palm's form was smooth and calculated, and it's clear this is just the beginning of something special. Expect him to slice through his times in future meets as he sharpens his edge.
The 100-meter dash proved another battleground, and NAU had three athletes battling it out. Jesse Adams powered through to a solid 18th-place finish, clocking in at 11.23 seconds. Keqwon Palm wasn't far behind, finishing 25th with a time of 11.43 seconds. Esean Elphage brought grit to the line, posting an 11.57-second finish, placing 29th. Though their results weren't as they had hoped, the heart and competitive drive displayed by all three runners were undeniable. The foundation for faster times and future victories is already being laid down.
Next up was the 200-meter race, where Jesse Adams led the charge for NAU, crossing the finish line in 21st place with a time of 23.49 seconds. Esean Elphage wasn't far behind at 29th, finishing at 24.72 seconds, while Sakievon Gardwin posted a time of 25.77 seconds for 31st place. It's clear that these athletes have the speed, but the competition is fierce, and with a little fine-tuning, the results will come.
After a weekend full of action, Coach Kenneth Apande, NAU's Athletic Director, couldn't have been more optimistic. "This weekend was all about progress," he shared. "We're making strides at every meet, and it's exciting to see the improvements in our hurdlers and sprinters. We have a great foundation, and I'm confident we'll see more personal records broken this year."
With the USCAA Championships on the horizon, Apande encouraged supporters to get behind the team—whether in person or through the live streams. "Every bit of support matters," he said. "It fuels their passion and drives them toward greatness."
The PVAMU Relays were an unforgettable experience, and NAU's men's team left with renewed motivation and a sharp focus on what's next. With each race, each pass of the baton, they are building momentum—and if you weren't there this weekend, you won't want to miss what's coming next.
