LADY STALLIONS STORM INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!
By Coach Jackson - SID
Buffalo, N.Y. – THE LADY STALLIONS ARE HEADED TO THE SHIP! After putting on an absolute clinic in their 76-35 semi-final beat down of Berkeley, the North American University Lady Stallions have just one more game standing between them and the USCAA Women's Basketball Championship.
The final battle is set: NAU vs. Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) on March 14, 2025, at 5:30 PM EDT in the Flickenger Center. It's win or go home—and trust me, this team ain't planning on going anywhere but to the top of the podium.
WHAT NAU NEEDS TO DO TO BRING HOME THE CHIP
1. BRING THE PRESSURE FROM THE JUMP
This defense has been straight-up terrifying all season. Against Berkeley, they forced 29 turnovers and turned those into 41 points—nearly half their offense! Bryant & Stratton will crumble if the Lady Stallions bring that same defensive energy.
2. OWN THE GLASS
Rebounds = championships. NAU outworked Berkeley on the boards, 53-41, and that HAS to continue. Keasia Robinson and Jewel Brandley need to own the paint and limit second-chance points.
3. LET THE BENCH COOK
Depth is the secret weapon of this squad. The NAU reserves outscored Berkeley's bench 34-9 in the semis. That's a game-changer in a title match where fresh legs matter. Dickey, Brandley, Solis—y'all are up!
4. TAKE SMART SHOTS & SHARE THE ROCK
The Stallions hit 40% from the field and 33.3% from deep in the semis. That efficiency needs to stay sharp against a more physical Bryant & Stratton defense. Powell and Peralta need to keep moving the ball and creating high-percentage looks.
5. STAY DISCIPLINED, STAY HUNGRY
This game is going to be high-intensity, high-emotion—but the Stallions can't get caught slipping. Take care of the ball. Limit turnovers. Keep your composure. A championship is earned, not given!
WHO NAU NEEDS TO LOCK DOWN – Bryant & Stratton's Key Players
Their go-to scorer. NAU needs to cut off driving lanes and force bad shots.
The rebounding machine. Body up, box out, and make her work for every board.
The three-point sniper. No open looks. No rhythm. Hands up every time.
SEMI-FINAL RECAP – TOTAL DOMINATION
NAU 76, Berkeley 35
NAU set the tone early with a 21-13 first quarter, then slammed the door shut by holding Berkeley to just 10 points in the entire second half. This was a statement win.
Big-Time Ballers from the Semis
Elisa Peralta – 12 PTS, 6 REB, 7 STL, 5 AST – Defensive menace, playmaker, and floor general all in one.
Maurdaisha Powell – 12 PTS, 3 STL – Hit some big threes and kept the pressure on.
Jerkayla Dickey & Jewel Brandley – 22 combined points off the bench – Instant offense.
Keasia Robinson – 10 REB, 8 PTS – The muscle in the middle keeps NAU dominant inside. She is the Dominator.
Berkeley had no answers. NAU's defense was too much, the offense was too smooth, and the energy was too electric.
Head Coach N. Davis had nothing but praise for his squad, saying:
"Our ladies played with heart and determination. They executed our game plan perfectly and showed why they deserve to be in the championship game."
IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS
One game. One shot at the title.
NAU has proven they're the real deal, but now they have to finish the job. If they bring the same energy, focus, and fire they did in the semis, they will be crowned champions.
The tip-off is March 14 at 5:30 PM EDT. Don't miss it!
GO LADY STALLIONS!
