NAU Women's Track Continues to Rise at 73rd TSU Relays
Written By Rev. Justin C. Jackson
The North American University Women's Track team made a strong statement at the 73rd TSU Relays, showing that they are ready to take their season to new heights. With standout performances on the track and in the field, the Stallions continue to build momentum toward the USCAA National Championships.
Gore and Lewis Set the Standard
Freshman Alayah Gore wasted no time making her presence felt, clocking an impressive 12.55 seconds in the 100 meters to secure a 3rd-place finish. She followed that up with a 4th-place finish in the 200 meters, running 26.74 seconds despite challenging wind conditions. Sophomore Niya Lewis also competed in the 200 meters, finishing in 10th place with a time of 32.38 seconds.
Hensley Climbs to New Heights in the Discus
In the field events, Chloe Hensley took a huge step forward, surpassing the 30-meter mark in the discus with a best throw of 30.13m (98'10"). Her performance is a testament to her dedication and the effectiveness of her refined throwing technique. With her confidence growing and her form improving, Hensley is climbing back into prime shape at the perfect time.
Steady Progress is the Key to Success
In track and field, every meet is an opportunity to improve, but the key to a successful season is steady progression. Peaking too early can leave an athlete struggling when it matters most. The goal is to continuously refine technique, build strength, and sharpen race execution so that the best performances come when championships are on the line. The NAU Women's Track team is embracing this process, setting the tone early while ensuring they are ready to dominate when it counts.
A Word from Rev. Coach JC Jackson
"Let me tell you something, my nieces and nephews, this race we are running is not just about today! The text says, 'The race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but to the one who endures to the end.' This track season, this journey, is a test of endurance, of faith, of discipline. You see, it's easy to get excited after one good meet, but the true champions—those who come back with the gold—understand that this is a process. It takes daily work, consistency, and a belief that your best is yet to come!
So to our Student Athlete Stallions, I say this: Keep pressing forward. Keep pushing. Don't get weary in well-doing because your harvest is coming! Stay faithful to the training, trust your coaches, and when the championship moment arrives, you'll be ready. We don't just run for the glory of today, we run with a vision for the future. Keep running, keep striving, and keep believing!"
"The race is not given to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but to the one who endures to the end." – Ecclesiastes 9:11
