Stellar Sprinters: North American University's Cosmic Conquest at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Relays!
By Rev Justin C. Jackson
In a cosmic clash of speed and style, the North American University Women's track and field team took center stage at the 20th annual J. Fred Duckett Twilight Relays, unleashing a display of athletic prowess that would make the stars jealous.
Amidst the twinkling lights of the Houston night sky, our Lady Stallions danced across the track with the grace of celestial beings. From the graceful discus spins of freshman phenom Chloe "Discus Dynamo" Hensley, who hurled a stellar throw of 26.98m, to the gravity-defying long jumps of Anaya "Leap of Faith" Owens, marking a jump of 4.34m, every moment was a constellation of brilliance.
But it was on the sprinting stage where our Stallions truly ascended to cosmic heights. Led by the meteoric speed of Dorian "Flash" Lewis-Bell with a time of 12.85 finishing 8th overall, our freshmen flyers blazed through the 100 meters with the swiftness of shooting stars. Niya "Neptune's Speedster" Lewis clocked in at 13.36 seconds, while Taylor "Turbo" McGinn dashed in at 13.58 seconds, and Ashley "Rocket" Ogbonna soared with a time of 14.46 seconds.
And as the galaxy of competition expanded to the 200 meters, our Lady Stallions showed no signs of slowing down. With Coach LD Merriweather guiding them like a seasoned navigator through the cosmos, Dorian "Flash" Lewis-Bell led the charge once more, clocking in at 27.25 seconds, with Aniyah "Sonic Surge" Johnson and Anaya "Leap of Faith" Owens hot on her heels with times of 28.11 seconds and 28.30 seconds respectively. Demry "Meteor Maiden" Salciado added her own stellar performance, crossing the finish line in 28.45 seconds, while Ashley "Rocket" Ogbonna continued to defy the laws of physics with her boundless energy, clocking in at 30.45 seconds.
But let's not forget the orbit-shifting impact of the 400 meters, where Lydiana "Lunar Lightning" Styles led our Lady Stallions on a journey across the track's cosmic expanse with a time of 1:02.72. Anaya "Solar Sprinter" Owens sprinted in at 1:05.28, while Demry "Meteor Maiden" Salciado and Niya "Neptune's Speedster" Lewis dashed through with times of 1:10.39 and 1:10.91 respectively.
As our Lady Stallions return to the training grounds, let's send them our cosmic support by emailing NAUAthletics.edu. Together, let's propel our team to even greater heights, for with performances like these, the universe is theirs for the taking. So let's raise our voices and shout, "Buckem!!" to the heavens, because the Stallions are ready to soar among the stars! And to our cherished readers, please take a moment to send emails to NAUAthletics.edu and request the Lady Stallions to run in some more track meets this semester. Gooooooooooooooo Stallionssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
