NAU Women's Track Team Gallops to Success at Mean Green Relays

In the thunderous realm of collegiate track and field, the NAU Women's Track team recently unleashed their speed and determination at the Mean Green Relays in Denton, Texas. Hosted by the formidable North Texas University, this event drew competitors from across various collegiate divisions, setting the stage for an electrifying showcase of talent and athleticism.

Among the standout performers was Chloe Hensley, a freshman sensation, who made her mark in the Discus Event with a remarkable throw of 29.90 meters (98 feet 1 inch). With a combination of precision technique and raw power, Hensley's performance firmly established her presence in the field events and earned her a well-deserved spot among the top contenders.

But Hensley wasn't the only star shining bright for the Stallion Ladies Track team. Across various events, the team showcased their skill and determination, leaving a trail of impressive stats in their wake:

  • Women's 100 Meters Preliminaries:

    • Chinosole Adkins (Freshman): 12.74 seconds (Personal Record, the fastest time ever in her career)
  • Women's 200 Meters:

    • Dorienn Lewis-Bell (Freshman): 26.39 seconds (Personal Record, the fastest time ever in her career)
    • Ashley Ogbonna (Sophomore): 30.04 seconds
  • Women's 400 Meters:

    • Anaya Owens (Freshman): 1:04.59 (Personal Record, the fastest time ever in her career)
    • Lauren Brown (Freshman): 1:06.16 (Personal Record, the fastest time ever in her career)
    • Niya Lewis (Sophomore): 1:12.71
  • Women's 800m Run:

    • Demry Salciado (Freshman): 3:01.69
  • Women's 4 x 100 Relay:

    • NAU Team (Adkins, Lewis-Bell, Brown, Owens): 50.37 seconds

The relay team, comprised of Adkins, Lewis-Bell, Brown, and Owens, showcased their synchronized speed and teamwork, clocking in at a blazing 50.37 seconds and securing a commendable sixth-place finish.

But beyond the impressive performances on the track, the Mean Green Relays were a testament to the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define collegiate athletics. Hill College, in particular, stood out for their unwavering support and spirit of encouragement, both on and off the field.
